Operational Safety Protocols
From the moment you land in Sumba until your departure, your safety is managed through a series of rigorous protocols.
- Vehicle Safety: Our entire fleet of 4×4 vehicles undergoes regular, documented maintenance at authorized service centers. Each vehicle is equipped with a first-aid kit, safety tools, and a GPS tracking device for real-time monitoring.
- Driver & Guide Certification: All our drivers hold a valid professional driver’s license (SIM A Umum) and have completed defensive driving training. Our lead guides are certified by the Himpunan Pramuwisata Indonesia (HPI) and are trained in Wilderness First Aid (WFA).
- Aviation Standards: We only book our clients on airlines that are IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) certified, with a strong preference for Indonesia’s national carrier, Garuda Indonesia, known for its excellent safety record.
- Emergency Action Plan (EAP): We have a comprehensive EAP for various scenarios. This includes established relationships with the best available medical clinics in Tambolaka and Waingapu, medical evacuation procedures, and a 24/7 emergency contact line for all our guests.
- Partner Audits: All partners, from hotels to equestrian stables, are subject to an annual safety audit to ensure they meet our stringent requirements, as detailed in Our Methodology.
By investing heavily in compliance and safety, we provide the secure foundation upon which truly unforgettable Sumba adventures are built. Explore our tours with confidence, knowing you are in the safest hands.
